Keeping people Covid  safe at the YSS Old School  from Monday 19th July 2021

To keep members and guests COVID safe at the school please follow these simple rules:

  • If you have symptoms, test Covid positive or a member of your household is isolating, then you shouldn’t be using the facilities. Please stay at home.
  • If you are very vulnerable or not had your jabs you may wish to delay your visit. - it’s a personal choice
  • Sanitising stations will still be kept in place. Please use these.
  • Please keep kitchens, communal areas, showers and toilets clean. Wash your hands.
  • If you want to wear a mask, that’s fine, we will respect it and will ask all members and guests to respect that.
  • Similarly, please respect peoples personal space especially at pinch points (stairs, corridors etc.)
  • If you are a visiting group, you will be allocated a dormitory with a set number of beds. Please stick to your dormitory. Some dorms may have mixed groups.
  • The Members’ dormitory is for members and their personal guests only.
  • All guests whether members or otherwise MUST book in advance.
  • We recognise that this is a difficult and confusing time for everyone. Please respect others and be tolerant of their viewpoints.

Any problems please contact a committee member or the booking secretary.

Should government advice change we will update these guidelines.

There are many club organised caving weekends, with a mixture of easy and difficult caving.  Over the past few years we have given lots of people the opportunity to experience caving with our "Try Caving" events.  These are quite popular and quite a few people have subsequently joined the club. We have YSS members caving most weekends so it is easy for new cavers to tag onto the easier caving trips and find people to help with more training.
