I met up with Fergus and Ashley down from Scotland for a holiday and found the photos on the wall of the Helwith intriguing.  An email to the YSS and I was heading to the Dales for  a trip to hopefully show caving in a good light.
First trip in a fair few months for me so I didn't want to be too overambitious. so I went for the tried and tested Upper Longchurn down into Lower Longchurn and ladder down Dollytubs to have a fab view into Alum.
On the way back we went out through Cross Passage for a bit more caving and then headed for home.
I think that the trip was enjoyed as questions of where next were asked and with a week or so left in the Dales hopefully they will get underground a little more.

We had a quick training session on the SRT wall on that Sunday evening before I left and they seemed to enjoy it, sure we will see them again.

About

There are many club organised caving weekends, with a mixture of easy and difficult caving.  Over the past few years we have given lots of people the opportunity to experience caving with our "Try Caving" events.  These are quite popular and quite a few people have subsequently joined the club. We have YSS members caving most weekends so it is easy for new cavers to tag onto the easier caving trips and find people to help with more training.
