As it was the CPC GG winch meet (without a winch) a few of us wanted to explore some other entrances into the system besides the usual Bar Pot/Small Mammal route.  Stream Passage Pot to Marylin was the plan but, as Marilyn wasn’t rigged, we switched to exiting through Flood Entrance and Wades.

We managed to find a surprising number of wrong turns between the end of Stream Passage Pot and Sand Cavern but judging from the well worn footpaths we were following so do others.   There were also surprisingly few people in the system, we met one other party on the surface and saw a brief glimpse of a light underground but that was it.

Overall, a fantastic day through two impressive pots.

Team:  Dave Chadwick, Dave Ramsden, Phil Hawcroft, Paul Magson.

About

There are many club organised caving weekends, with a mixture of easy and difficult caving.  Over the past few years we have given lots of people the opportunity to experience caving with our "Try Caving" events.  These are quite popular and quite a few people have subsequently joined the club. We have YSS members caving most weekends so it is easy for new cavers to tag onto the easier caving trips and find people to help with more training.
