Hi all
Dived Deep Well last Sunday, well supported by a BPC/YSS/CPC/MMMMC sherpa team. Added 80m of line to my limit of 3 years ago, meaning the upstream sump is now 320m long, 42m depth at the end (around 40m depth for 80% of the sump!)
The way on is wide open at the end; turn around was dictated by \"I'd better sod off now or I'm going to die\" gas reserves. The sump continues on the same bearing, heading straight through the blank area between Far Country and South East Pot. 2 hour dive, followed by an 80ft pitch straight out of the water and 3 hours of caving (not recommended in any diving textbooks!)
Many thanks to all who helped carry the small mountain of gear to the sump.
Regards,
Dave Ryall

Well done Dave from the YSS

About

There are many club organised caving weekends, with a mixture of easy and difficult caving.  Over the past few years we have given lots of people the opportunity to experience caving with our "Try Caving" events.  These are quite popular and quite a few people have subsequently joined the club. We have YSS members caving most weekends so it is easy for new cavers to tag onto the easier caving trips and find people to help with more training.
