After checking weather via Penygent cafe, forecast was showers clearing afternoon so we decided as it had stopped raining to give it a go. Me and Mark Helmore rigged dolly tubs which was reasonably dry and Les (WCC) and Simon and Nome (WCC) first Yorkshire trip rigged Dican.
After meeting at the sump exchanged glances and proceeded out, I must admit first pitch was a tad damp with two tackle sacks but we made it out and went to help the other group down Dolly Tubbs. After reaching the first pitch and meeting the others at the top, their were a couple of very loud bangs. After running out of the cave we were greeted with a deluge of lightning, thunder and rain for the next couple of hours. Brilliant trip 4 hours not bad for southern softies.

About

There are many club organised caving weekends, with a mixture of easy and difficult caving.  Over the past few years we have given lots of people the opportunity to experience caving with our "Try Caving" events.  These are quite popular and quite a few people have subsequently joined the club. We have YSS members caving most weekends so it is easy for new cavers to tag onto the easier caving trips and find people to help with more training.
