Another wet day in the Dales, following a protracted period of rain.
After a protracted discussion we thought that It's a Cracker was okay in reasonably high water conditions. Having done it recently I suggested an exchange with Boxhead.
With the caves booked, we packed the bags and headed up to Leck Fell. The weather was not to bad (for Leck), so we changed quickly and headed for the caves. Passing the entrance to Lost John on the way, which looked a bit sporting.
We soon got to the entrances and I started down the entrance of Boxhead while Keith headed over to It's a Cracker.
I rapidly ended up in a tangle with 2 bags and myself in the entrance shaft of Boxhead with the sound of gushing water coming from below.
Keith returned from It's a Cracker to report that the normally dry crawl at the bottom of the scaffolding was a white water experience.
Having been hauled out of Boxhead, we thought we would go and have a quick look at another wet-weather favourite Notts Pot.
After a walk across the fell, we saw 2 (normally dry) streams flowing into entrance filling the pot hole with spray. We ventured down the entrance shaft and down the short climb to the small chamber. We then followed the stream to near the next pitch, where we decided that it was far too wet to progress any further.
We headed back to the cars for a swift change before tea back at the hut.
