According to my What's App, there was no one interested in the Knock Fell trip, but Fran was interested in a more string related trip. So we arranged to pop down Aquamole, which provides an excellent selection of rebelays and a couple of deviations.
When I got to the hut on Saturday, Lukas was there all ready to go on the Knock Fell trip, having put his vote into What's App mid week! He was happy to give Aquamole a go, which was good given the amount of string. We packed the bags and headed off to Kingsdale passing a scruffy lot of individuals parked at the top of the Kinsdale road.
We set off down the cave without issue on any of the 7 rebelays on the entrance pitch, even the last (slightly awkward) one.
We then had a bit of caving before starting on the second bag of rope for the 2 short pitches before the (rigged) up pitch into the alternative route.
This has a nice 30m (ish) pitch and then an interesting descending traverse, which I rigged on natruals, before the final pitch down to the sump.
Having got to the bottom, Lukas volunteered to derig. Fran was not keen to take a bag past the awkward rebelay, but said she would wait on the big ledge above to collect it. She "forgot", and I had two bags most of the way up the entrance pitches!
At the entrance, there was a bearded gentleman repairing the top of the concrete block shaft, which made exit from the cave slightly more difficult trying to avoid touching the wet concrete.

About

There are many club organised caving weekends, with a mixture of easy and difficult caving.  Over the past few years we have given lots of people the opportunity to experience caving with our "Try Caving" events.  These are quite popular and quite a few people have subsequently joined the club. We have YSS members caving most weekends so it is easy for new cavers to tag onto the easier caving trips and find people to help with more training.
