Ros & I arrived at SWCC on the Thursday.
We had a short walk up the hill in the afternoon to loosen up after the long drive.

On Friday we decided to have a refresher in Cwm Dwr a cave I have not done for a few years (about 15). I had been told the the boulder choke had changed and that the "Category 2 confined space" was now clear of boulders. The trip went well with only a couple of navigation faffs (one looking for the entrance to the boulder choke & one looking for the traverse near the "Main Route". We turned round at The Smithy and Ros lead out.
Team/Time: Dave & Ros / About 3 hours
It still being early, we had some lunch and walked down the hill to check the route to OFD1 entrance.
On the way back we went into Powel cave and did the though trip by the light of a mobile phone.
Team/Time: Dave & Ros / About 10 minutes

On Saturday we had a leader for a trip in Dan Yr Ogof. Loz, Ros, Lukasz, Phil & Alex took up this option.
Andrew lead a trip in OFD2 with seven pitches starting near "Skyhook". Keith & Rich went on this trip with a couple of people from another club.
Dave joined Jo and three other caves from the Wealden Cave & Mine Society for a trip looking at some of the lesser visited sections of OFD2. We went round some of the Labyrinth, Swamp Creak and the Maze.
Team/Time: Jo & Dave + 3 / About 3 hours

On Sunday most of the cavers from YSS were keen to get off reasonably early, so a short trip in OFD1 visiting Crystal Pool, the flood escape route & the Airy Fairies. This went according to plan. The new stemples made it much easier to get into Lowe's Passage!
Team/Time: Alex, Phil, Lukasz, Rich, Ros & Dave / About 3 hours
On the way back to SWCC Rich & Dave thought it would be rude not to do the Powel cave through trip. This took about 10 minutes again but was easier (& more impressive) with proper lights.
Apparently Andrew & Jo plus some others went to top waterfall.

About

There are many club organised caving weekends, with a mixture of easy and difficult caving.  Over the past few years we have given lots of people the opportunity to experience caving with our "Try Caving" events.  These are quite popular and quite a few people have subsequently joined the club. We have YSS members caving most weekends so it is easy for new cavers to tag onto the easier caving trips and find people to help with more training.
