With Toy Land on the meets list and having failed twice to get into Toy Land, I decided it was time for a third attempt.
We headed over to Kingsdale, changed and entered the cave via Valley Entrance. We followed Roof Passage towards the pitch until we came to Milky Way, a low passage on the left with a chalky deposit on the walls.
After a short crawl, it opened at a T junction where we needed to turn right for Toy Land.
There is a short scramble up to an in-situ rope. I am sure that last time I attempted Toy Land, this was a knotted handline for a dodgy climb.
This lead to the squeeze which was my downfall on my second attempt at getting into Toy Land. Beyond the squeeze is a traverse (my downfall on my first attempt).
The traverse now has an in-situ rope, which makes life a lot easier. My third time to get into Toy Land was a success.
The initial chamber was quite well decorated with a waterfall coming in from the passage on the left.
Sophie lead the way up the waterfall and through a couple of narrow passages to another chamber and a climb up to another in-situ rope.
This lead to another small chamber with yet another rope climb into some muddy passages.
We decided that we could not be bothered with the offer of 15 minutes grovelling either at the top or the bottom of the final pitch, so we all headed out.

About

There are many club organised caving weekends, with a mixture of easy and difficult caving.  Over the past few years we have given lots of people the opportunity to experience caving with our "Try Caving" events.  These are quite popular and quite a few people have subsequently joined the club. We have YSS members caving most weekends so it is easy for new cavers to tag onto the easier caving trips and find people to help with more training.
