With a smaller number wanting to cave on Sunday, we packed the bags and headed over to Horton to park. It was a lot quieter in Horton today after the chaos of the 3 Peaks race yesterday!
We parked opposite the old school, changed and headed up to the cave. This was a longer walk than I remembered and it wasn't long before we lost sight of the children racing into the distance.
We caught up at the cave entrance as they only had bag 1, so they could not have got far.
Matt rigged the first couple of pitches when Jakub took over for the 6m pitch. He then lead through the duck which was a bit chilly, especially the deep bit at the end.
He danced across the traverse to the final pitch which he rigged and descended.
Ros had decided to turn back at the duck but the rest of us made it to the sump.
Jakub seemed keen to have a swim in the sump.
Having got to the end of our trip we returned to the surface. I found Ros waiting at the head of the big pitch, from where we headed out together.
We had a short wait on the surface for the rest to appear before we headed back to the cars.

Team: Matt, Jakub, Lukasz, Phil, Ros & Dave
Time: About 3 hours.

About

There are many club organised caving weekends, with a mixture of easy and difficult caving.  Over the past few years we have given lots of people the opportunity to experience caving with our "Try Caving" events.  These are quite popular and quite a few people have subsequently joined the club. We have YSS members caving most weekends so it is easy for new cavers to tag onto the easier caving trips and find people to help with more training.
