There did not seem to be as many cavers around on Sunday, but we were an hour earlier!
Ros was keen to try Corcky's, so we changed, registered and headed over to the entrance.
Having descended the ladder we were soon in a fairly flat out crawl. This lasted past a couple of cascades to the first pitch, which is traditionally approached head first. Some people reversed out and turned round to approach feet first, others did a kind of summersault onto the pitch.
The snug passage and awkward pitches carried on for a while until the cave became better decorated. We then only had one small pitch before the splendid, long pitch into Mud Hall.
Although we had been waiting periodically in the crawls, we still had a long wait before the whole group were down the final pitch.
We then headed over to main chamber before splitting at the Bar Pot pitch with James, Matt & Rhuarhy going up that pitch and the rest of us going up South East Aven. The tube at the end of South East Aven was interesting, in that it looked far narrower than it really was.
We then all came out of Bar Pot entrance. I did have a look for the way into Small Mammal from the top of the Greasy Slab but was unable to find it. I'll have a look from the top one day.

Team: Ros, Charlotte, James, Matt, Rhuarhy & Dave.
Time: About 4 hours

About

There are many club organised caving weekends, with a mixture of easy and difficult caving.  Over the past few years we have given lots of people the opportunity to experience caving with our "Try Caving" events.  These are quite popular and quite a few people have subsequently joined the club. We have YSS members caving most weekends so it is easy for new cavers to tag onto the easier caving trips and find people to help with more training.
