B) 6.00pm the phone rang,we are going into the new stuff tomorrow can you make it,Well no,Can you go tonight then and open up the sump,A quick check with Mavis - permit stamped & there I was at 7.00pm on Leck Fell getting changed.Rich Mercer joined me and soon we were heading downstream in Notts 2 armed with two ropes & bags for tomorrows pushing trip,The climb up into Gour Inlet went without a hich, but in front of us all the water was muddy a sure sign some had been in earlier that day. We pushed on to the sump,it was passable.but we decieded to start up the pump and completly empty it for tomorrows pushing trip. We then headed out at breakneck speed, trying to keep up with a very fit Kendal Hobit in Hobit size passage is not a good idea but I did try and we soon made the surface on a very nice Leck fell night

About

There are many club organised caving weekends, with a mixture of easy and difficult caving.  Over the past few years we have given lots of people the opportunity to experience caving with our "Try Caving" events.  These are quite popular and quite a few people have subsequently joined the club. We have YSS members caving most weekends so it is easy for new cavers to tag onto the easier caving trips and find people to help with more training.
