Just me and Andy out today - meant two great big bags of rope to walk up the hill with. Sun was full on - so we were glad to get underground. I soon cooled down as I fell backwards into Double Shuffle pool - very refreshing, was just the job.
Id had never rigged Alum

so off we went down to the bottom and the sump. Quite a bit of water coming down Diccan considering how dry its been. Then we headed back up me de-rigging and swearing at the bag of rope as we traversed on the final pitch. Cracking day - finished of with several pints of Copper Dragon ale in the Helly.
Note to all - Im sure we all cut corners and take the easy option with SRT/rigging - todays trip thankfully we didnt otherwise one of us wouldnt of been here today. It too easy to become complacent and forget that its a long way down and humans dont bounce much.
Trip time - 2 hours down, 1.5 hours back up
Mr Andy Mason and Mr James Finch and two red bags.
