Although over the last few weekend's the weather had been shite

, and the 12th was no different with lots of rain and some snow to boot. Our trip option was sorted as Ales had got a permit for Bar Pot and after a phone conversation with Hannah first thing Saturday we found out Bar was already rigged with ULSA ropes

. After the drive over to Clapham we realised that someone had left their caving kit back at the school, suffice to say I will remain nameless

and after driving back to collect my kit we were soon back at Clapham getting changed in the rain. Met up with Hannah on the walk up as she was sheltering in the Ice House and braving the weather we carried on up through Trow Gill and were soon at the shake hole for Bar Pot, at this point Hannah carried on with her walk and we made our way underground. Once down Bar we dropped our SRT kit as we wouldn't be needing it now, first stop was the Main Chamber where the water level was very low despite all the rain we had had although the waterfall was very impressive. Left the Main Chamber with the intention of doing the hairy traverse, but the other two didn't fancy it so left the same way we entered and made our way towards Sand Cavern and onto Stream Passage which was emitting a very impressive stream. So up we went to have a look at the waterfall and followed a parallel passage up to a very impressive aven. On the way back out stream passage Ales noticed the water sinking through some boulders, which he decided to follow and after shouting us to come through we found a dry way to join him

. After a tight squeeze

we followed this for a fair way before it started getting loose and wet, at this point we decided to make our way out and arriving back at the bottom of the now very wet final pitch of Bar we kitted up and made our way out derring ULSA's ropes on the way. Once back on the surface it was a very cold walk back down to Clapham with some very impressive sights on the way, due to all the water that was about.
