It is along way to look at a Jewsons builders bag!
I must admit this has taken years and years to achieve for one reason and another but many thanks to Tony Seddon, I have finally done it. Tony was happy to help me with the breathing under water stuff and equipment but no flippers. The only flaw in the trip was that Tony thought I would be to quick so gave me 2X 4L cylinders to carry in and out, it worked!(actually I think he wanted me to have plenty of air) We both met at sump one and proceeded to sump 2, where we kitted up. If you don't know sumps 1 to 9 in Swildons hole can be free dived or passed but breathing air through 2,3 and 4 is more pleasant. We soon reached sump 6 which I found on a previous trip to be a little snug and no viz (why dive when you can not see anything?), we passed this little obstacle and carried kit, bypassing sumps until reaching sump 9. Tony said it was a little like sump 6 but longer about 40m longer, mmm well I had plenty of air so off I went and it was very pleasant and you could see things (brown dirt mostly). Surfacing the other side I found myself a little perplexed as their seemed to be no way on, had I gone wrong, should I return mm better wait to see if Tony arrives. Apparently the way on is a sump with no line attached I must of missed that one in the book. After de-kitting we found our selves paddling in sump 12 and climbing around the Jewsons bag left by previous divers clearing sump 12. A few photos and off back out, which I'm happy to say went swimmingly apart from carrying bottles and kit out. Tea and medals!
Jocking a side Tony had given me many lessons before we did the trip and allot of guidance which I am truly thankful for.
Trip time 5 and half hours.
