As Chan and I had to prepare for the social later in the day we opted on a shorter walk.

Walk from the school to Wharfe and turning right picked up the upper part of White Stone Lane. Followed this to Crummack Lane and turned right to Crummack farm. Once past the farm two tracks lead left onto the high ground and toward the Allotment but we carried on straight following the low route into the head of the valley and a short climb at the top left to the track leading to Sulber Nick.

Nice quiet part of the walk completed and onto the battle scarred Sulber Nick and the trudge down to Horton and the river walk back to the school. Most surprising part of the walk was Sulber Nick and the absence of walkers, made for a pleasant change!

The weather for the walk was sunny all the way around the walk with the rain setting in about 30 minutes after our return - that was good timing!

I think they were all at Ribblehead, it was teeming with brightly coloured walkers up there.

Glad you guys enjoyed your walk, even better you made it back in time to sort out the food for the social. Which was very very nice, looking forward to the next one ;)

Susan and I did a walk from Austwick past Norber Erratics in the distance then over to Sulber Nick. We intended to have a closer look at the Erratics on the way back. As we approached The Nick the heavens opened and we scuttled back to the car via Crummack Lane and didn't get a good look at the Erratics. Still a good walk but rather damp.

About

There are many club organised caving weekends, with a mixture of easy and difficult caving.  Over the past few years we have given lots of people the opportunity to experience caving with our "Try Caving" events.  These are quite popular and quite a few people have subsequently joined the club. We have YSS members caving most weekends so it is easy for new cavers to tag onto the easier caving trips and find people to help with more training.
