As we had got a couple of guys who were not up to SRT speed, we opted for a Giants trip. Did the usual, Garlands Pot down the Crabwalk and onto the Giants Windpipe, which for a change was quite low on the water level.
Traversed back above the Crabwalk and went through the Calcite Squeeze, before dropping back down to stream level. Then back to Garlands Pot to make our way out. Did meet three guys, no gear or helmets, just hand torches.
One of them had just climbed down our ladder, he was promptly put into Lee's harness and life lined back up the pitch, were they quickly made there exit.
Trip time 2hrs15
James Finch, Tony Farrow, Leone Zabloki, Andy Mason, Lisa Wootton, Lee Langdon, Keith Mason

Did you explain their potential predicament had you not found them before you removed your ladder???

They were totally oblivious to the situation they could of ended up in. The one at the bottom was at least wearing protective trainers and white boxer shorts - you will know what I mean if you were there.
Great trip - thanks Keith

About

There are many club organised caving weekends, with a mixture of easy and difficult caving.  Over the past few years we have given lots of people the opportunity to experience caving with our "Try Caving" events.  These are quite popular and quite a few people have subsequently joined the club. We have YSS members caving most weekends so it is easy for new cavers to tag onto the easier caving trips and find people to help with more training.
