I was caving and didn't fancy the trip to the bottom of Alum, so managed to persuade Keith and Bean to take a trip in Washfold as I hadn't been before.
The walk over was bitter in to a biting wind across the snow. We got to the entrance broke through the snow and headed in.

Great cave one that lives up to its name, the big pitch is really nice, the climbs are interesting and got to look at some of the new anchors . Once we got the sump we turned around and heading back out, only hiccup when I was overly enthusiastic with one of the tackle bags.

Back to the school for tea and cake and to warm up before the fun began.

About

There are many club organised caving weekends, with a mixture of easy and difficult caving.  Over the past few years we have given lots of people the opportunity to experience caving with our "Try Caving" events.  These are quite popular and quite a few people have subsequently joined the club. We have YSS members caving most weekends so it is easy for new cavers to tag onto the easier caving trips and find people to help with more training.
