Emsy decided she wanted to go to the very bottom of Longwood-August and only I and Mac were stupid enough to volunteer.

After diverting the stream so it was not running down the entrance we made our way via August chimney (the wet way) which was a little damp. After swing pitch and proceeding to the bottom, well the bottom for most people including me and Mac. Emsy turned left and proceeded down Reynolds passage, it was decided only fair that she went first being the smallest then me and then Mac being slightly bigger than me. As Emsy carried on me and Mac waited to see if we could turn around if we proceeded, the all clear came (not to bad) and we followed on until we came to fanny rift. As Emsy went down the rift my arse got stuck in Fanny rift (well a first for everything)as we waited for Emsy to return with the words that was F***ing tight, me and Mac made the right decision to stay where we were and not push above our abilities. We all retreated for tea and medals.
Brilliant trip and well worth doing once or until you forget.

About

There are many club organised caving weekends, with a mixture of easy and difficult caving.  Over the past few years we have given lots of people the opportunity to experience caving with our "Try Caving" events.  These are quite popular and quite a few people have subsequently joined the club. We have YSS members caving most weekends so it is easy for new cavers to tag onto the easier caving trips and find people to help with more training.
