After sorting out cars and getting kitted up, we soon found ourselves walking up the valley to arrive at the entrance to Providence Pot. Once we were all down we started to make our way through the system, soon arriving at the Blasted Crawl, which is not as bad as most write up’s lead you to believe. Once through the crawl it was easier going and we soon found ourselves at Stalagmite Corner and the start of Dowbergill Passage, fairly easy going from here and we were soon in 800yards Chamber.
From here we took the Stream level as water levels were quite low, soon reaching the point were we had to climp up and traverse over to reach the knotted rope back down to Stream Level. All that was left then was fairly easy going with a couple more easier, up and down climbs and we were soon in Dow Cave and heading for the exit.

Cracking trip, one that has been on my 'to do'list for some time, just needed a good day and some experienced leaders. Many thanks to all.
The water was almost tropical too (almost I said).

About

There are many club organised caving weekends, with a mixture of easy and difficult caving.  Over the past few years we have given lots of people the opportunity to experience caving with our "Try Caving" events.  These are quite popular and quite a few people have subsequently joined the club. We have YSS members caving most weekends so it is easy for new cavers to tag onto the easier caving trips and find people to help with more training.
