We can call todays trip a YSS one, two members and an ex member on board.
After some ubiquitous socialising on the Saturday evening and a sleep deprived night in a strange bunkroom with some serious snoring going on, add the aches and bruises from the previous day and so it was that Sundays allocated trip to Washfold Pot left me feeling far from enthusiastic initially, even after a good breakfast, but were still away not long turned 9 am.
We had a job to do and some team members who had not done the cave before and it is a great trip - the first proper pitch is a fabulous fluted shaft and worth the efforts of  thrutching to get there.
Great trip down the the sump rigging from the first pitch onwards and back derigging on the way out, they left the old man on the trip (me) to de rig the awkward pitch which I had a thrutchy struggle with as always and that calcite climb and flat out slot above was hard graft - Alex who had left a bit ahead of us came back in for a bag - I take it all back, he's a absolute star.
We had about 5 hours underground plus the walk both ways.
Team: Stu Weston (Cavers List), Jess Tomlinson (SMRT), Alex Ritchie (UWFRA), Andrew McLeod (CRO)
2 black book trips in a weekend, getting too freeking old for this - my advice is to do them while you are young and your recovery is quicker or have a good team of young carers! - Thanks guys.

What does SMRT means? In Czech it literally means 'death'. What an appealing name!

Well done, young man.

About

There are many club organised caving weekends, with a mixture of easy and difficult caving.  Over the past few years we have given lots of people the opportunity to experience caving with our "Try Caving" events.  These are quite popular and quite a few people have subsequently joined the club. We have YSS members caving most weekends so it is easy for new cavers to tag onto the easier caving trips and find people to help with more training.
