Team:  Claire, Amy, Keith, Martin, Adrian, Paul.

Ireby Fell Cavern wasn’t on the meets list for this weekend but with such a large turnout we needed to split up and spread ourselves out.  Plus some of us didn’t fancy the tight bits in Large Pot.

We chose to descend by the Shadow Route which involves some entertaining trapeze work before heading down to Duke Street 1.  Here the team split with 4 returning to the bottom of Bell Pitch where the team spilt again.  Martin and Amy exiting via the pre-rigged Ding, Dong Bell pitches and Claire derigged the Shadow Route accompanied by Keith.

Meanwhile Adrian and Paul went through the Skylight Passage crawl to Duke Street 2 then through to the ropes leading up to Jupiter Cavern but ignored these and continued along the rift below the ropes to it’s end.

About

There are many club organised caving weekends, with a mixture of easy and difficult caving.  Over the past few years we have given lots of people the opportunity to experience caving with our "Try Caving" events.  These are quite popular and quite a few people have subsequently joined the club. We have YSS members caving most weekends so it is easy for new cavers to tag onto the easier caving trips and find people to help with more training.
