Well dig fever has hit the Mendip boys, after a quick poke around the top of Swindon’s the other night we discovered a bypass to part of the wet way down the cave. As we started poking from the top I was elected to poke underneath (the stupid one I guess) and a voice connection was soon heard followed by a Scurrion light cutting its way down the rift.

After about an hour or so we had dug the rift big enough for me to make the connection, after hand shakes and a few R's it was of to the Hunters for celebrating (if only all digs were this simple).

A name is needed so any ideas?

We have called this passage 'Ripper Passage' due to the first couple of cavers down the passage ripped their suits. Best we could do.

About

There are many club organised caving weekends, with a mixture of easy and difficult caving.  Over the past few years we have given lots of people the opportunity to experience caving with our "Try Caving" events.  These are quite popular and quite a few people have subsequently joined the club. We have YSS members caving most weekends so it is easy for new cavers to tag onto the easier caving trips and find people to help with more training.
