With a good number wanting a steady Sunday trip, Sunset Hole was chosen.
The advance team of Damian, Ros and Dave were eager to be away while we were all still drinking tea and discussing the debarkle of a meeting that the AGM turned out to be, amongst other events of the previous evening.
The walk in was pretty awful due to the wind and horizontal rain, it felt positively pleasant underground.
The 'A' team had rigged and were on their way out when team 'B' of Martin J, Alan B and Stu W were heading in for a free ride down the rigging, I had a little look into the extensions now that there is a proper rope rigged from new bolts rather than the tat rigged off a section of rusty railway line. (trip time 1 1/2 hours) thanks to the riggers and de riggers.
As we were on our way out team 'C' of Josh, Becky, Grace, Ade and Stephen were heading in, they also derigged - thankyou.
Back at the carpark we bumped into Alex R and John with a mate who were also heading for a sobering up trip in Sunset but would have to rig it themselves, snooze and lose.
Despite our best attempts at helping a fell runner with cold hands and failed car key fob, he had to leave his car there and go with his mate to warm up and get another key.
Back to the hut for tea, cake and putting the world to rights.

Is there going to be a trip report on the AGM?  Sounds like it might  more interesting than the caving!

I left the AGM before an hour and it seemed like it was not going to be ending soon after that, though there was very little on my copy of the agenda.

I look forward to the minutes.

About

There are many club organised caving weekends, with a mixture of easy and difficult caving.  Over the past few years we have given lots of people the opportunity to experience caving with our "Try Caving" events.  These are quite popular and quite a few people have subsequently joined the club. We have YSS members caving most weekends so it is easy for new cavers to tag onto the easier caving trips and find people to help with more training.
