With another potential new member appearing anther easy trip was on the cards. After discussion about the weather especially the threat of thunder storms, Damian decided that Thistle & Runscar was the best option.
We managed to park near the viaduct and headed over to the caves.
We started off in Thistle which is the drier of the two caves going upstream from the easiest entrance, looking at a few of the oxbows & the formations. Having gone right to the terminal chamber, we headed back down to the entrance (mainly inside the cave) before heading over to Runscar.
This is normally a bit wetter, but the water level was very low. We did the pleasant walky section and then moved into the tighter upper cave. Most of the party left were not keen on this level of fun and headed back out, leaving only 3 masochists to push the cave to the point where enthusiasm failed.
Returning to the normal entrances, so of us decided to have a look at the lower section of Thistle cave. This starts quite low but the roof soon rises until the last couple of feet, which is flat out in a puddle.
A good time was had by all, mainly type 1 fun!

Time: About 3 hours.
