Another non-SRT cave for the Sunday trip.
A quick drive over to Dentdale to meet new member Andy and explore a cave I had not done since 2010.
Andy had got there before us and had found the entrance but had not started to excavate the gate from the pile of flood debris!
After a few minutes moving logs and branches we were able to get to the gate, which fortunately was removable. If it had been hinged we would still be there digging out grot.
There was a straight forward passage to the main chamber and then many side passages, mainly below the "floor" of the main chamber. This floor was really just collapsed ceiling but most of the collapse had happened a long time ago.
We followed several of the leads to sumps or until they became too unpleasant before heading out to look for the other entrances to the cave (which we failed to find).

Team: Andy, Lukasz & Dave.
Time: About 2.5 hours.

About

There are many club organised caving weekends, with a mixture of easy and difficult caving.  Over the past few years we have given lots of people the opportunity to experience caving with our "Try Caving" events.  These are quite popular and quite a few people have subsequently joined the club. We have YSS members caving most weekends so it is easy for new cavers to tag onto the easier caving trips and find people to help with more training.
