With the less than wonderful weather and the numbers wanting to cave dwindling, the Simpsons/Swinsto exchange became a through trip in Swinsto.
We popped into Valley Entrance to check the water levels & rig the pitch. The pitch was already rigged, so we decided to use the in-situ ropes.
We then wandered up the hill straight to the entrance of Swinsto.
The water flowing in the cave was reasonably high, but did not cause any problems other than a couple of the pitches being a bit damp & some deep bits in the Long Crawl.
Other than a cockup by the derigger on the third pitch (not used to deviations on a pull through) and the rope twisting badly on the first part of the Split Pitch, the trip went without incident.
It was a little damp in places and any exchange with Simpsons would have been very wet.

Valley Entrance team: Ros, Stu & Dave.
Valley Entrance time: About 20m
Swinsto Team: Ade, Rich, Stu, Lukas & Dave.
Swinsto time: About 3h

About

There are many club organised caving weekends, with a mixture of easy and difficult caving.  Over the past few years we have given lots of people the opportunity to experience caving with our "Try Caving" events.  These are quite popular and quite a few people have subsequently joined the club. We have YSS members caving most weekends so it is easy for new cavers to tag onto the easier caving trips and find people to help with more training.
