Following a major logistics exercise we put eight people (Keith, Lukas, Lukasz, Dave, Caiti, James, Bob & Paul) into Lost Johns' Pot. They were going to do a through trip to Notts II rigging Centipede route on the way in.
A further four people (Phil, Matt, Andy & Sam) were rigging Dome route & continuing to the bottom then derigging from Final to Centipede.
The third team (Josh, Grace, Matt & Dave) were having an easy ride down to Battleaxe Traverse where we turned round, went back up Shistol & Candle before derigging Dome route.
Grace & Matt had been to Starless River to get some shiny new kit. Grace was particularly pleased with her purchase of a rig which she thought was going to be easier to use that the simple she had been using up to now. The rig lasted one pitch before it was swapped with Matt for his simple!
Matt was happy with the rig & Grace seemed to be happier with a simple.
We quickly made our way down to Battleaxe traverse, Matt and Josh went part way along it & met the tail end of the people on the through trip.
Turning round, we met the Dome team on their way down Shistol. They said the ropes they had rigged Dome route with were a little short, which had resulted in a couple of climbs.
On the way up, Dome was rigged quite tight (to generate enough rope to reach the ground), I removed the dangly rebelay above the window which generated a bit more slack & made life easier.
There was then an interesting climb to get up to the bottom of Cathedral pitch. The pitch itself was fine, but the traverse line at the top could have done with starting earlier.
There was no rope on Vestry pitch, which again made for an interesting climb. Once I had got up Vestry, I rigged it with my tatt.
The top pitch was fine & we were soon speeding across the New Roof Traverse and out of the cave (remembering to turn left at the junction).

Third team time: About 4h30.
The through trip arrived as we were changing.
The second team took a bit longer still.

About

There are many club organised caving weekends, with a mixture of easy and difficult caving.  Over the past few years we have given lots of people the opportunity to experience caving with our "Try Caving" events.  These are quite popular and quite a few people have subsequently joined the club. We have YSS members caving most weekends so it is easy for new cavers to tag onto the easier caving trips and find people to help with more training.
