Amy wanted and easier trip than Little Hull Pot on Sunday and suggested that we go to Sunset Hole. As it was Amy's trip, she got volunteered to rig.
We parked near the water board building and headed along the track towards Ingleborough in fairly pleasant conditions. We walked straight to the cave, put SRT kits on and headed down with Amy in the lead.
We soon arrived at the first pitch, which was rigged without difficulty. For the second pitch we used the high level route, which has an interesting traverse to the hang but Amy was up to the task. The remaining pitches were easy after that. No one was keen to look at the extensions, so we turned around and headed out with Lukas derigging.
On the walk up Amy had talked about taking her children caving and Great Douk was suggested. With the track going quite close to the cave, we thought it would be rude not to have a look at it. So we had a quick through trip during which we got quite wet in the crawl.
Coming out in the limestone pavement, the weather had changed and we were greeted by a cold wind and sleet. This made for a chilly walk back to the car and unpleasant changing.
