Bull Pot (aka Jingling Pot) - 2 Feb '25Discussion the night before had uncovered the fact that Claudia was eyeing up a trip to Bull Pot (K'dale), which tied in rather well with my plan to get in a quick trip and head home in good time for Sophie to get to her party that evening. As with all good plans, this was quickly scuppered when we arrived at the parking spot to see another large group changing a bit further down the road. Based on where they had parked, they could only be going to Bull Pot; either that or they were very lost! It's a great design of the cave gods that the ropes for Bull Pot and Jingling are interchangeable so, not for the first time in my career, we switched from one to the other. As Jingling was also new to Claudia and Lukas, and Sophie is after all the ropes practice she can get, this wasn't a bad switch anyway. The trip to the bottom via the Lateral Cleft was pleasingly uneventful and, after a bit of time spent discussing the now abandoned dig at the bottom, we turned around with Lukas derigging very efficiently. Party: Claudia, Lukas, Sophie and DamianTime: 2hrs (ish)

About

There are many club organised caving weekends, with a mixture of easy and difficult caving.  Over the past few years we have given lots of people the opportunity to experience caving with our "Try Caving" events.  These are quite popular and quite a few people have subsequently joined the club. We have YSS members caving most weekends so it is easy for new cavers to tag onto the easier caving trips and find people to help with more training.
