Thirteen people caving on Sunday! Paul & I had agreed to take the novices and less adventurous for a short trip down Dolly Tubs and then out via the Long Churns.
The remainder decided to do a Diccan - Alum exchange. They were given the Dolly Tubs rope as they were going to be moving faster than us.
We entered via Diccan entrance & took the second turning on the right to cut over to Dolly Tubs. Having got there, we could not find the rope.
We eventually found it down the other pitch & the deviation on that pitch had not been rigged.
After a small amount of swearing, I derigged the direct pitch and rigged the more pleasant split pitch with the short traverse between the pitches.
Julie elected to stay at the top of the pitch and was entertained by Matt (from the Alum to Diccan group) while we were down the pitch.
The rest of us descended the pitches and admired the view from the window. Paul & Bernice descended the next pitch for a better look at the pot, while the rest of us started back out.
We re-grouped at the head of the pitch and Matt dashed off to rejoin his group.
We headed out via the Long Churns, skirting round a couple of pools on the way.

Team: Ros, Julie, Bernice, Gwyneth, Lee, Paul & Dave.
Time: About 3 hours

About

There are many club organised caving weekends, with a mixture of easy and difficult caving.  Over the past few years we have given lots of people the opportunity to experience caving with our "Try Caving" events.  These are quite popular and quite a few people have subsequently joined the club. We have YSS members caving most weekends so it is easy for new cavers to tag onto the easier caving trips and find people to help with more training.
