There were several trips being planned including Yordas (Chaperhouse Traverse), Crescent Pot & FOUL Pot. I did not think that Val would enjoy any of these trips.
We eventually decided on Jingling Pot via Little Gully & Lateral Cleft. I packed an 80m rope for most of the pitches and a separate rope for the final pitch.
Having checked Val down the first mini pitch, we set off across the traverse and into the Lateral Cleft.
Val was not keen on the traverse but coped admirably and with only a few reminders we were soon at the head of the pen-ultimate pitch.
I rigged this with a dodgy (fusion) knot that I had been practicing and headed down. I ran into the rope end knot a couple of metres above the floor.
After a quick return to the head of the pitch and an adjustment of the rigging, I went back down. I still had to change the end of rope knot to be able to get off the rope.
The final pitch was no problem.
Val declined the chance to derig and shot out of the cave.
The derigging we without a hitch & we were soon back on the surface enjoying the afternoon sun.

Team: Val & Dave.
Time: About 3 hours.

About

There are many club organised caving weekends, with a mixture of easy and difficult caving.  Over the past few years we have given lots of people the opportunity to experience caving with our "Try Caving" events.  These are quite popular and quite a few people have subsequently joined the club. We have YSS members caving most weekends so it is easy for new cavers to tag onto the easier caving trips and find people to help with more training.
