Just Sophie and I this morning, as Grace wasn't feeling too good and decided to stay at home.  It had clearly been a wet night and the forecast was for more rain all morning - something dry was very much the order of the day. We discussed the various options, Sophie went for Sell Gill. The previous day had been her longest trip to date and she hadn't taken her pads so was probably aching all over. Despite this, and the unpleasant weather, I was impressed that Sophie didn't moan once as we changed in the rain and began the trudge up the track. The Sell Gill "Dry" Route is anything but on a wet day and we enjoyed some speedy abseiling in a naive attempt at avoiding a soaking. At the bottom there was enough water coming down the wet way that there was no way to safely get past it, so we quickly retreated back up the pitches. Sophie had the benefit here of having the rope pulled out of the main flow. The less said about me, the better! Back at the School in time for lunch and showers ... just using the residual heat in the tank, Alan ... no buttons were pressed, so don't worry! Time: 1hr 30Party: Damian & Sophie

About

There are many club organised caving weekends, with a mixture of easy and difficult caving.  Over the past few years we have given lots of people the opportunity to experience caving with our "Try Caving" events.  These are quite popular and quite a few people have subsequently joined the club. We have YSS members caving most weekends so it is easy for new cavers to tag onto the easier caving trips and find people to help with more training.
