A small turnout for the club meet this week. Four of us met in the hut at about 9:00, but Ros jumped ship to play in the new kitchen with Fiona.
We packed the rope and headed over to Kingsdale. The weather was more like Leck Fell as we were changing but at least we were walking mainly down wind to the cave.
Matt rigged Little Gulley into Cleft Route. The first rope finished earlier than I expected, but this turned out to be correct when consulting the topo after the trip.
The second rope (a 45m on the topo) was definately short. The new CNCC topo has this as a 60m! So we used the rope for the final pitch for the penultimate pitch.
We had a quick turn around and passed another group between two of the pitches.
The weather was just as bad on the way back to the car & for changing into "dry" clothes.

About

There are many club organised caving weekends, with a mixture of easy and difficult caving.  Over the past few years we have given lots of people the opportunity to experience caving with our "Try Caving" events.  These are quite popular and quite a few people have subsequently joined the club. We have YSS members caving most weekends so it is easy for new cavers to tag onto the easier caving trips and find people to help with more training.
