With a lack of enthusiasm for the meets list trip (Bull Pot), we eventually decided to have another look at Simpson Pot as a pull through.
Paul was keen to have a look for the entrance to Strike Series & Alan had not done it.
We packed a couple of 60m ropes and headed over to Kingsdale.
There were a huge number of cars around Valley Entrance, apparently it was the day for testing Nicola, a new(ish) cave communication system.
We ascended the hill and found the entrance reasonably quickly.
As I was ready, I set off down the cave to start the rigging. This went without issue, though the de-riggers had a little more fun.
The trip went without incident and we climbed up the in-situ rope to Swinsto Great Aven.
I had got carried away with the rigging & forgot to look for Strike Series but apparently Paul & Lukas had a quick look for it.
I had a wander around the bottom of the pitch and found a piece of hawser laid rope which seemed to lead into a dig.
Once we had assembled at the bottom of the Swinsto Great Aven, we all headed down to the main streamway and out of Valley Entrance.
Emerging from Valley Entrance, we were greeted by some of the people who had been testing radios in the cave.
Team: Paul, Alan, Lukas, Lukasz & Dave.
Time: About 3 hours.
