With an apparently ever increasing number wanting to do Juniper Gulf and the idea of a rigging & derigging team on the same day not appealing, we decided to do something different on Saturday and leave the derigging until Sunday.
Hurnel Moss was the cave chosen and we soon had 6 people jump ship from the Saturday Juniper trip. TC jumped ship again on the day but we were joined by Klaudia & Matt.
The parking on the road junction near Newby Cote did not look appealing, so we parked in a layby a bit closer to Clapham.
It took about 50 minutes to walk to the cave, which we found fairly easily with the aid of a mapping app.
I rigged the first bag, Matt took over for the second bag and did a good job rigging the first traverse. Paul took over for Poseidon Ledge (third bag) and we were soon at the bottom of the main pitches.
Paul rigged the faffy section down to the stream and we headed off to the disappointing sump. This was lower and even more disappointing than usual.
Having reached the bottom, we started heading back out with (I believe) Stu & Klaudia sharing the derigging.
We took a slightly more efficient route back to the cars.
