May 27th Bar pot, Mud hall via main chamber

Took the chance to take a trip down bar pot and come out on the winch , we all just managed to squeeze down the first pitch and with the help of the survey soon found the big pitch , all down safely we had a wonder into sand cavern before we took in the sights of the main chamber. Then we all climbed up into the old east passage, and round the traverse line to the other side of mud hall at this point we climbed down into mud hall and had a look at the mud sculptures before making our own (must say its funny to watch 4 grown adults playing with the mud) we then climbed back up to the top and carried on up past avalanche pot to the junction of far east passage and craven passage before returning to the main chamber and out via the winch,

About

There are many club organised caving weekends, with a mixture of easy and difficult caving.  Over the past few years we have given lots of people the opportunity to experience caving with our "Try Caving" events.  These are quite popular and quite a few people have subsequently joined the club. We have YSS members caving most weekends so it is easy for new cavers to tag onto the easier caving trips and find people to help with more training.
