With a large number of people wanting to cave, we ended up with numerous trips on the Saturday
Lost John (1): Keith & Stu
Lost John to Notts 2: Lukas & Charlotte
Lost John (2): Sharon, Finchy & Gwyneth
Notts 2 to Lost John: Phil & Rich
Deaths Head to Notts 2: Matt, Ade, Lukasz, Bernice & Robin
Deaths Head: Dave & James
Yordas: Aaron & Sam
Valley Entrance: Rachel, TC & Dave
We also had a couple of "wild" swimmers at Keld
Nigel stayed at the hut to ensure there was sufficient coleslaw for the barbecue
Alan, Lugger, Steve, Becky & Ros came for the evening activities.

This being my report, I will add a few words about our Valley Entrance trip:
We had a short SRT training session on the wall before heading over to Kingsdale.
The outside temperature made the long walk to the cave unpleasant but we were soon in the full blast of the cave air conditioner.
We made swift progress to the pitch down to the stream.
Having descended the pitch we headed upstream and through the easy crawl to Swinsto Great Aven.
We then headed back out of the cave and had time for another training session before the barbecue.
Rachel seemed to enjoy the trip, she even came caving again on Sunday!

Time: About 2 hours.

About

There are many club organised caving weekends, with a mixture of easy and difficult caving.  Over the past few years we have given lots of people the opportunity to experience caving with our "Try Caving" events.  These are quite popular and quite a few people have subsequently joined the club. We have YSS members caving most weekends so it is easy for new cavers to tag onto the easier caving trips and find people to help with more training.
