With just three of us out to play on the Sunday and some SRT practice being the order of the day, a trip down Jingling Pot via the Lateral Cleft route was untertaken.
After a good play around on ropes and to wash away the smell of dead sheep, we then had a blast through Jingling Cave as far as the waterfall into Rowten and back again - a thoroughly refreshing way to rinse off, however Alex did scratch his new helmet:( .....

The happy trio were Alex, Susan & Stu.W:cheer:
Trip time - filled the afternoon nicely,

I've memories of Jingling.

When I was first rigging trips, I went to Jingling with the nerves that attach rigging yourself and on a huge drop too, from two trees stumps that have seen better days. I dropped the rope down and it was a big knot of tanlges. Amid hauling it up these walkers popped their head over the top. I felt all tough and Arnie like! i'll show these walkers what's really the way to spend an afternoon in the dales.

I managed to haul up the knot and was surrounded by meters of rope when the little girl in the walkers party pointed to a spit and said \"Dad did you put this one in?\"

My dream of being tough was quickly shattered.

Arrived at the hut on Sunday not knowing what to expect. There nothing definite on the forums. After hanging around for ages, several cups of coffee and listening to tales of brave deeds from the night before I had almost made up my mind that nothing was going to happen and that Susan and I should go to go to Sell Gill for a bit of rigging practice.
Stuart to the rescue.
We had a great afternoon in a pot that was very impressive. Susan and I got a lot of SRT practice and ticked off a couple of new caves. Swinging around over the main shaft was exciting, the creaking noises from the tree we were hanging from caused a bit of concern. Jingling cave was good fun and an unexpected bonus. There were some impressive passages and the view into Rowten Pot main shaft was worth the effort.

Thanks Stuart

About

There are many club organised caving weekends, with a mixture of easy and difficult caving.  Over the past few years we have given lots of people the opportunity to experience caving with our "Try Caving" events.  These are quite popular and quite a few people have subsequently joined the club. We have YSS members caving most weekends so it is easy for new cavers to tag onto the easier caving trips and find people to help with more training.
