As nobody seemed interested in doing the Top Sink to Pip trip, we decided to go down Lancaster for a ferret around. Went and had a look at the Colenades then went through Kath's Way and onto Fall Pot, once down Fall Pot we climbed down into the Main Drain and went and had a look at the Sump. Explored a few passages on the way back out, then made our way back to surface.
Trip time 3hrs30

A great day out! I was a bit greatful to be rained off the planned squeeze through Washfold.
Lancaster had been recommended as an excellent trip and did n't dissapoint!
After a nice descent down the first pitch we left our SRT and followed Keith - good job he knew where to go as this seems a right old labyrinth.
Some amazing sights in the colonades. Good free climbs down to the stream passage. And then WOW what a beatiful sight down there it was like being in the grand canyon looking up at the sides of the cliffs!
A big thanks to Keith and Nigel - a great trip.

About

There are many club organised caving weekends, with a mixture of easy and difficult caving.  Over the past few years we have given lots of people the opportunity to experience caving with our "Try Caving" events.  These are quite popular and quite a few people have subsequently joined the club. We have YSS members caving most weekends so it is easy for new cavers to tag onto the easier caving trips and find people to help with more training.
