After a steady walk up onto Turbary Road we were soon at the lift shat entrance pitch of Aquamole, after steady progress down to the top of the last pitch, some people opted to give this a miss and started heading out. After dropping the last pitch I was joined by Rich, Emma and Stu who had been in Turbary Road Pot and as they were going to derig I started to make my way out leaving it to them.
Trip time 3hrs 30

(Started typing this so thought I would add to Keith's notes)

Chalk up another wet one :(

Sunday 25th October 2009 so a trip led by Keith to Aquamole

Keith, Fiona, Nigel, Gordon and myself took a hike up Kingsdale in what felt like a gale, many pitches and I am sure Keith used every “P” hanger to setup as many rebelay’s as the ropes would allow :)
Excellent fun we all kept moving especially when one of the rebelay’s was located directly underneath a waterfall, small waterfall but I got soaked to the skin (and as Fiona says “skin is waterproof”).
We were caught up by a party of three at the final big pitch, the new group one of ours went down and some of us turned around, possibly something to do with the night before J
Must do a trip to Aquamole again, all the way next time.

As always thanks to all who set this trip up. See you soon

Pete James.

PS. Sorry if I got any details wrong and missed your names off, I am new to this J

Another great day out.
A lot cooler on the walk up made it easy to walk up in full kit.
Nigel spotted the entrance manhole grill.
Nice tight breeze block shaft down.
Lots of vertical stuff; all in a rift some bits tighter than others which actually helped sometimes as you had footholds to take the weight off on the re belays.
one was under a refreshing waterfall.
Bit of caving prior to final big pitch.
Keith did this one.
ButI thought but now regret ] to save my energy for trip back up through all the re belays - now knowing I was ok on trip up I should have done final pitch - but still learning my limits!?
Thanks to Keith for an excellent trip. Everyone for excellent company.
Nicely finished off by coffee and cake in Inglesport! thanks Pete.

About

There are many club organised caving weekends, with a mixture of easy and difficult caving.  Over the past few years we have given lots of people the opportunity to experience caving with our "Try Caving" events.  These are quite popular and quite a few people have subsequently joined the club. We have YSS members caving most weekends so it is easy for new cavers to tag onto the easier caving trips and find people to help with more training.
