Susan and I (YSS) and Neil, Rob and Gordon (Cambridge Climbing and Caving Club) went in to Cow Pot to have a look at a new (ish) route that bypasses the horrible sqeeze that leads to Fall pitch. The new route was even worse than the squeeze so most of us went through the squeeze (one person decided a walk on the moor was a better option). I wasn't sure if I would ever get out again so decided to save my energy for the return through the squeeze and not bother doing the second pitch, in the end nobody bothered with the pitch and we all came out again. The squeeze wasn't as bad as I expected (well I got out). A short trip but good fun. Thanks CCCC chaps.

Hi Alex

Glad you and Sue had a good time in Cow Pot. The CCCC trip to Langstroth on Sunday was... well, short in length but not in time. The entrance may be bigger than it used to be but it's still really tight and awkward, particularly when there is a waterfall boshing down it. I think the cave definitely won (for now)!

About

There are many club organised caving weekends, with a mixture of easy and difficult caving.  Over the past few years we have given lots of people the opportunity to experience caving with our "Try Caving" events.  These are quite popular and quite a few people have subsequently joined the club. We have YSS members caving most weekends so it is easy for new cavers to tag onto the easier caving trips and find people to help with more training.
