Lots of hung over cavers set off for this one after a bit of a late start!
Nigel was leader - as he had explored this twice this year already.
Bit of a walk from the car to the entrance – which was found immediately thanks to the theory ‘after the last stile head for the break in the limestone’.
Quick descent down the entrance shaft . The idea was to split into two parties at the stream junction. ...sort of worked? as various people discovered ‘new’ ways of getting to the far end in groups of two to four!
Lots of ‘hanging’ boulders around!
Lots to see - obviously more to explore and promises were made to return to do it more justice next time!
Alex Nigel Sue and Rich went to explore the upstream passage......

It was an enjoyable trip, the system feels like it has lots in it yet to be discovered. The route finding was interesting, especially for me on the way out. I will go back there and have a good poke around. Not too happy about the state of some of the boulders in the roof, they seem to be hanging just glued on with a bit of mud.
A good fun trip, thanks all.

I really enjoyed this one, lots of variety I thought and would like to return some time although I think I will always be daunted by that keyhole rift at the start!

Possibly my favourite cave so far.. despite the hanging boulders. I wonder how safe they really are?

It is a cavers cave i think. Yet again i could not get up the waterfall climb, kept slipping down into the pool and where the hell is that final pitch?

About

There are many club organised caving weekends, with a mixture of easy and difficult caving.  Over the past few years we have given lots of people the opportunity to experience caving with our "Try Caving" events.  These are quite popular and quite a few people have subsequently joined the club. We have YSS members caving most weekends so it is easy for new cavers to tag onto the easier caving trips and find people to help with more training.
