Bull Pot
Just to ensure every cave in West Kingsdale was covered, we headed up to Bull Pot and Yordas. Emma came close to embarrassing herself, but realised a snow bridge concealed the entrance pitch before wandering over it! Water levels were surprisingly low, so we rigged both routes down for a bit of variety.

Yordas
We opted for the middle entrance as some work was being carried out on the fence around the top entrance. What a difference a cave makes: The water was roaring down the final pitch so had to rig the full traverse- even with the deviation in the landing was still wet. With the sight of daylight, the party vanished, leaving me to derig on a fading lamp.

Party: Richard Rae, Emma Beecroft, Claire Powell, Tom Coomber

I think Rich is trying to destract from is own embarrassment that was had when he led the \"advanced\" party (him and Tom) way past the cave; only to leave Emma and I waiting ages for the rope to arrive having walked direct to the cave.

By both routes, we mean the normal route and another route off the dry passage to the side of it: on the way out I learnt this wasn't the \"wet route\" as we'd thought, the wet route is in fact a bit further down the 2nd pitch and was looking pretty wet - glad we had made the mistake.

About

There are many club organised caving weekends, with a mixture of easy and difficult caving.  Over the past few years we have given lots of people the opportunity to experience caving with our "Try Caving" events.  These are quite popular and quite a few people have subsequently joined the club. We have YSS members caving most weekends so it is easy for new cavers to tag onto the easier caving trips and find people to help with more training.
