Nigel had been keen to visit the beck for a while; Once I’d rigged down, my job was done and Nigel went off to have a look at the passage beyond the wet bit (I should have joined him really!) He was soon back, enthusing about his excursion and we wasted no time getting back to a patriotically adorned Helly for a St George’s Day pint with some of the York lads.

Highlight of the trip was a couple of small cave fish seen in the streamway.

Party: Richard, Nigel

An excellent evening trip Rich, thanks for sorting it out. The deep water and eyehole squeeze were a pleasure to pass (twice) on a Friday evening, the passage for the most was clean washed stream passage, classic Yorkshire cave, could this be called a 'mini Birks Fell'? The usual team would have loved this one especially Big Bad Gordon and Sue, the formation and passageway would have had you singing like a lark:laugh:

About

There are many club organised caving weekends, with a mixture of easy and difficult caving.  Over the past few years we have given lots of people the opportunity to experience caving with our "Try Caving" events.  These are quite popular and quite a few people have subsequently joined the club. We have YSS members caving most weekends so it is easy for new cavers to tag onto the easier caving trips and find people to help with more training.
