Dave’s second training day with an exchange trip planned. Two parties – Dave, Gordon and Me dropping in through Diccan and Rob, Alex, Sue & Other woman (sorry missed her name – S.O.U.P) going into Long Churns.

Lots of major traversing over a long drop with just the wall supporting, don’t look down, Re-belays and deviations avoiding what little water there was. Definitely not a good system in the wet as the water was still coming after no rain for many weeks.

Came back the way we came in managed to swing into the water fall – next time hold onto the bottom rope – doh..

Pleasant surprise to find Keith and party hiking up the hill ready to come find us.

Thanks to Dave for an excellent weekend, I will buy you a pint next time. :)

PJ.

About

There are many club organised caving weekends, with a mixture of easy and difficult caving.  Over the past few years we have given lots of people the opportunity to experience caving with our "Try Caving" events.  These are quite popular and quite a few people have subsequently joined the club. We have YSS members caving most weekends so it is easy for new cavers to tag onto the easier caving trips and find people to help with more training.
