With 7 of us turning up we split into two groups, with one group going into Titan for a quick look round and to bring out the ropes from the weekend trip. The rest of us going in via JH, we left James and Julie playing around in the Workshop area whilst Nigel and Myself carried on down to the bottom. From here we made our way through the Boulder Piles.....with care and carried on to the Speedwell Canal to go and have a look at the Miners Boats and a quick look at the Bottomless Pit ( once again thanks to the Show Cave for letting us have the key). From there we made our way back to go and have a look at the Miners Toasts and Main Rising, before making our way back out of JH, also derigged the diggers rope from Bitch Pitch and bought it out for them.
Trip time 4hrs30
Julie Butcher, James Finch, Nigel Steel, Keith Mason
Titan team
Christine Wilson, Lisa Wootton, Lee Langdon

Good trip to get Julie back into SRT. We decided the workshop was enough for her first night back into it, so had a good ferret about and a look at the top of Leviathan pitch, then made our way out.

What an amazing SRT trip, many thanks Kieth. The main streamway is an amazing place the rising was exeptionally clear and blue and deep. The old boats were interesting, i could not decide if they were clinker built vessels (will have to do some research). Bitch pitch on the way out was as the name suggests, the most interesting bitch i have come across in a long time. The final 50m up the entrance shaft was very tiring to say the least, the bounce on the rope quite annoying but a pleasure to get to the entrance. Good to see everyone an excellent way to spend an evening :) Verdict driving home , absolutely knackered but a big grin on face :)

About

There are many club organised caving weekends, with a mixture of easy and difficult caving.  Over the past few years we have given lots of people the opportunity to experience caving with our "Try Caving" events.  These are quite popular and quite a few people have subsequently joined the club. We have YSS members caving most weekends so it is easy for new cavers to tag onto the easier caving trips and find people to help with more training.
