Opted to to Sundays trip on the Saturday, as we wanted to be back in time for the committee meeting and the Xmas social. So it was then that the fearless five  set off for Bull Pot Farm, and after getting changed, and a pleasent walk over it was time to lift the lid and go for it.

Rigged County as a pull thru and did it on belay belts, so no SRT Kits to drag through with us, once down in the Streamway we headed of towards Spout Hall and then peeled of right to make our way through to the Manchester Bypass.

From there we made our way on to Stop Pot, once down Stop Pot we headed off towards Fourways Chamber and our connection into Wretched Rabbit streamway, before heading out we had a quick detour downstream to look at Eurika Junction and the Main Drain, then it was turn around time and a steady plod on towards the roped climbs out of Wretched Rabbit.

Once out on the surface a couple of us decided to have a splash about in the big pool just outside the entrance :woohoo: cold or what. All that was left then was the walk back downstream and the trip back in County to the top of the pitch, to collect a bag that somebody forgot to take with him  .

After that it was another very pleasent walk back to the cars for a quick change and back to the school
Trip time 3hrs

I did remember the bag... just as the rope was pulled down! Whoops.

It was a good trip and I was impressed by Keigh's knowledge of the system, I would still be down there if I had to navigate.

A great trip and also a great social evening at the Old Schoolhouse afterwards.

I don't know what I did to my leg though, the pain is just about subsiding now! Perhaps it was when I broke through the ice and fell over?

I've put up photos from the weekend on my FB account it's at

About

There are many club organised caving weekends, with a mixture of easy and difficult caving.  Over the past few years we have given lots of people the opportunity to experience caving with our "Try Caving" events.  These are quite popular and quite a few people have subsequently joined the club. We have YSS members caving most weekends so it is easy for new cavers to tag onto the easier caving trips and find people to help with more training.
