As JH was rigged, apart from the entrance shaft and Ride of the Valkyries was also rigged we decided to make the most of this and have a free ride so to speak :)
Seven of us turned up at a wind swept Rowter Farm, and after getting kitted up and finally sorting the key out, we were on our way.
Due to numbers we double rigged the entrance to speed up our exit, once down the 1st pitch we split into two groups, after dropping down to the bottom of JH we soon arrived at the low crawl wich connects to the way on, not very inviting as it was half full of water :( but once through it we headed of towards Calcite Aven.
Steady going up the Aven and along Balcombes Way for the spectacular descent of Ride of the Valkyries, after that it was a steady plod back through Stemple Highway and the low wet crawl again :( to arrive back in the bottom of JH for a steady prussik back out to the surface and the pleasures of getting changed in the wind and the rain.

About

There are many club organised caving weekends, with a mixture of easy and difficult caving.  Over the past few years we have given lots of people the opportunity to experience caving with our "Try Caving" events.  These are quite popular and quite a few people have subsequently joined the club. We have YSS members caving most weekends so it is easy for new cavers to tag onto the easier caving trips and find people to help with more training.
