No place on the forum for cycling trips so this will have to be a "walking" trip report. Having spent all day Saturday scrubbing and painting at the Old School, Mike and I took advantage of the brilliant weather over the Bank Holiday weekend to do two bike rides. On Sunday we did a circuit from the hut, mainly on roads to Clapham (with a gratuitous detour to Feizor for beautiful scones in the cafe), then south of the A65 back along east to Settle where we had ice creams after mending Mike's puncture. The final stretch was up through Little Stainforth to the Old School.

On Monday, we drove over to a friend in Bordley, just above Grassington, and did a fantastic off-road route round that area. Highlight of the trip was summiit of Weets Hill reached in part along Smearsbottom Lane! Now what is the history of that place name?

About

There are many club organised caving weekends, with a mixture of easy and difficult caving.  Over the past few years we have given lots of people the opportunity to experience caving with our "Try Caving" events.  These are quite popular and quite a few people have subsequently joined the club. We have YSS members caving most weekends so it is easy for new cavers to tag onto the easier caving trips and find people to help with more training.
